My hope is in the Almighty God
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope,
Paul said to Timothy ‘I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith’.
I want to be able to say that I finished the race and stood for the right spiritual things and principles of God’s word. It’s a matter of waking up and putting on the whole armor of God, facing what comes my way during the day in humility and discernment, meditation on his word in all situations, praying for others and giving thanks to God for all he does in and through us.
12 Therefore, since we are surrounded by such a great cloud of witnesses, let us throw off everything that hinders and the sin that so easily entangles. And let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, 2 fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. For the joy set before him he endured the cross, scorning its shame, and sat down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 Consider him who endured such opposition from sinners, so that you will not grow weary and lose heart.
Scriptures to meditate on
For whatever was written in former days was written for our instruction, that through endurance and through the encouragement of the Scriptures we might have hope.
May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, so that by the power of the Holy Spirit you may abound in hope.
For in this hope we were saved. Now hope that is seen is not hope. For who hopes for what he sees? But if we hope for what we do not see, we wait for it with patience.
And everyone who thus hopes in him purifies himself as he is pure.
