Verse of the day 12/02/14 (Astray) Day 58 of 100

Astray – Verse of the day – Day 58

astrayDavid W. Aucoin

I’ve been asked before why to you always sound so positive in the verse of the days? I mean some say I never write about down times. Well, today is a day for the downside of Christianity we have all fallen astray and turned out backs on God. We do it in the smallest of ways, yet his love keeps me writing of the positive things. I have many bad days of disobedience because I am human, but here is the thing God says we can have joy amidst the pain of disobedience. A father corrects his children.

So I mainly write on the good side of God’s grace knowing that others realize that I have struggles just like everyone else. We all have struggles but thanks for the grace of God the work he did for us is an act of unconditional love. I walk in that assurance alone. I was led to do the verse of the day by the spirit of God and so I do this everyday because I am grateful for his provision for us all.

Today I want to start my day with a repentant heart and ask God to continue to teach and guide me on my path, yet I know I will fall again because of the pressures of sin on me, but when I do fall I get right back up, dust off, repent and turn back to God’s grace.

Reflection Passage Psalms 52:1-9

1 Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion
blot out my transgressions.

2 Wash away all my iniquity and cleanse me from my sin.

3 For I know my transgressions, and my sin is always before me.

4 Against you, you only, have I sinned and done what is evil in your sight; so you are right in your verdict
and justified when you judge.

5 Surely I was sinful at birth, sinful from the time my mother conceived me.

6 Yet you desired faithfulness even in the womb; you taught me wisdom in that secret place.

7 Cleanse me with hyssop, and I will be clean; wash me, and I will be whiter than snow.

8 Let me hear joy and gladness; let the bones you have crushed rejoice.

9 Hide your face from my sins and blot out all my iniquity.  Please read the entire psalm today

Verse of the day – Astray

Isa 53:6: We all, like sheep, have gone astray, each of us has turned to his own way; and the LORD has laid on him the iniquity of us all.

Here is an awesome song I sing when I need God’s forgiveness. A heart felt repentance are these words.

Quote for my day

We failed, but in the good providence of God apparent failure often proves a blessing.
