Verse of the day 04_30_2014

Isaiah 41:13
For I am the Lord your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear;
I will help you.

I was thinking this morning how God wants us to trust in him without fear. He rejoices when we obey him because he knows that on our own we cause a tremendous amount of anguish for ourselves. A loving God and yet a jealous God.

No other Gods shall come before him for he is the one and only the alpha and omega.

Just as a preacher has to prepare his sermon we too as laymen have to build out hearts up with the word of God and study so we may espouse our beliefs and be ready at all times to answer his call where ever we are not just in the 4 walls of the church.

Today I want to list a couple of verses that call us to fear not the Lord, and the situations the old testament leaders found themselves in.

Genesis 15:1
After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward.

God came to Abram and spoke faith to him. We can look forward to knowing him and receive a reward for following in faith. After Abrams act of faith and did not fear the Lord, God blessed him and his descendants and said to him that his seed shall be numerous as the stars in heaven. Too many to count and faith had made him whole.

Do not fear for God is with us.

Exodus 14:13
And Moses said unto the people, Fear ye not, stand still, and see the salvation of the Lord, which he will shew to you to day: for the Egyptians whom ye have seen to day, ye shall see them again no more for ever.

Moses a leader worthy to speak the words of God and was able to hear directly from the Lord. He told his people fear not for the Lord is with us. He shall fight our battle and the Lord did because Moses obeyed him and did as the Lord instructed him and parted the Sea. He had faith that what God told him were words of truth and power. He use that mighty staff with faith in God and received attention from the Egyptians. They knew that the Lord was fighting the battle for the Israel.

Do not fear for God is with us.

Deuteronomy 1:21
Behold, the Lord thy God hath set the land before thee: go up and possess it, as the Lord God of thy fathers hath said unto thee; fear not, neither be discouraged.

Still Moses reminded them to fear not. When they were at battle the Lord fought their battles because they believed what Moses told them the Lord said. Their faith in God gave them victory every time.

Do not fear for God is with us.

These verses let us know that even in real physical war God is in total charge. But we are also in a war that is not seen. A war that is fought in heavenly places and if we are not in tune with Gods word Satin can easily drag us to a distance from God that sometimes takes a while to get back in focus. Satin stuns us for a season if we are not careful. We must stay focused on the word of God.

When I think of the leaders in the old testament I have such respect for their faith and how they were not disobedient when God called them to action.

I must live my daily life with the same attention to Gods voice as the patriarch’s of the old testament
for I too am in a war. It is a powerful spiritual war. I must always do as the father leads me. We wrestle not against flesh and blood but powers and principalities in high places.

So today as I am called to battle let me listen very hard to what the word of God says about me and fear not his call on my life to stand up when I am called on and do what is asked of me.

Although Jesus fights my battles against Satin for me I still must give my life to him and listen and obey in order for me to have victory. I must play my part in faith and believe in him and listen.

Do not fear for God is with us.

I place my life in his hands just as the words says in the song below.
I feel joy when I think of a new glorious place we shall be without sickness, pain, and suffering.
I am so thankful today.

Good ole Gospel music from Rance Allen.
It is such a delight to watch Rance Allen perform and sing. I would like to see them in concert.
