Verse of the day 05/10/2014

Malachi 3:10
Bring the whole tithe into the storehouse, that there may be food in my house. Test me in this,” says the Lord Almighty, “and see if I will not throw open the floodgates of heaven and pour out so much blessing that there will not be room enough to store it.

An important topic today……………

Today as I think about tithing I think of this part of today’s verse ‘the whole tithe’. God ask for a 10th and we should give a whole tenth. There are views in which under the new law of Grace we are to give from the heart. If we decide to give it should be a determined amount and given with a heart of thanks giving.

I personally have been working on this for sometime and my feeling is that if God asked 10% in the old testament then it may be a good plan in which to start from. We can give more but a heart that has decided that this is an amount that will be set aside for God seems to be a reasonable commitment, 10%. We can give more when we are able but a consistent regular tithing of 10 % and a heart that is focused on a steady regular giving I think is what the church of God needs to grow. I realize this is a hard topic to give opinions on and everyone must come to a decision in their own heart. I am just giving a look at it here and my feelings are from where I am in my walk with God now.

I pray today that I continue to realize that the storehouse of God must have a steady and consistent body of believers that are committed to filling it with the needs of the body of Christ. It takes money to operate the church and we are the fuel. The members….

We need to be consistent in our tithes which will allow Gods people to do the work of God.

God will do his part by blessing us and we must do our part.

Today I pray for consistency in my giving and that I give with a whole heart of thanks giving.

As I give of myself let me never forget the importance of giving my tithe to my church home.
