Proverbs 24:14 Know that wisdom is such to your soul; if you find it, there will be a future, and your hope will not be cut off.
Last night our life group was talking about wisdom and knowledge of God. Hope is a very important part of our life. It is just a must that we live close to god and stay connected with his knowledge and wisdom. We are brought close to God through the blood of Jesus and we have a hope in him. A hope of a better life and and brighter future.
It is a wonderful thing to know that we will be accepted through Jesus at the day of judgement.
I want to walk worthy of him and serve him daily. I want my life to be a life of worship. Now having said that, I am not saying that I don’t fall into old ways of thinking or acting because of this fleshly battle I deal with everyday. We have old issues that we inherited from living a life that was far away from God especially if we came to the knowledge of God at an older age.
Coming to Christ at a later time in life is something I deal with personally because I had so many years living lost and far away from God. But thank God for his Grace I now can recognize when those old behaviors come crashing in. I don’t try to understand them I just turn them over to God and ask for wisdom to not react to them but learn a lesson from them. It’s a daily battle.
Ephesians 6:11 (Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.) We must put on the whole armor of God first thing in the morning before we arise.
The hope that the writer of Proverbs is talking about is not a hope like someone wishing for something but rather a hope of confidence in something. A knowing that what is hoped for is there and waiting for us one day. I get on my knees and thank God for the promise written in his word today.
What would life be with out hope? It would be full of meaningless events that would bring us down into a depression. Hope builds us up. A knowing of a wonderful ending and knowing that the future is bright and full of abundant life. My hope is built by enduring hardships and struggles in the flesh.
I will glory in this hope and hope will build me up.
As a farmer looks at his seed and sees a great harvest with faith we look to the bible and see the hope that has been given to us from mercy and love. We believe it and live it.
So today as I move into yet another day of grace given to me I will know that a promise awaits me and I have hope to attain it in it’s fullness.
