Verse of the day 05/18/2014

Revelation 1:8
“I am the Alpha and the Omega,” says the Lord God, “who is and who was and who is to come, the Almighty.”

Again this thought about an eternal God comes up in today’s verse of the day. No beginning and no ending. Have you ever just sat still and tried to understand that God operates in eternity and there was no beginning and no ending? Wow!  Never started and never will end yet he created us to experience time in this earth realm. It is awesome to know that one day we will have a glorified body and live as eternal beings with God.

2 Peter 3:8
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that one day is with the Lord as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.

Now that is what I call a time machine. Just too much for me to try to understand this morning. I don’t think God has problems answering prayers. He operates totally different from us and our little minds can’t imagine an omnipotent presence.

God is all knowing and powerful. I guess today I don’t have enough understanding about this subject so I will let scripture talk for me.

Job 37:16

Do you know the balancings of the clouds,
the wondrous works of him who is perfect in knowledge.

Psalm 147:5

Great is our Lord and mighty in power;
his understanding has no limit.

Psalm 139:4

Even before a word is on my tongue,
behold, O LORD, you know it altogether.

Isaiah 46:9

I am God, and there is none like me,
declaring the end from the beginning
and from ancient times things not yet done.

Well today I am in awe of this fact that God always was and always will be.

I will thank the Lord today for this and know and believe he loves us all and will complete a work he began in me.
That I can do.

So this morning as I go to the house of worship let me remember that he is my only source of understanding and hope.

Quote for my day:
Upon a life I did not live, upon a death I did not die; another’s life, another’s death, I stake my whole eternity.
