1 Peter 5:8-9
Be sober-minded; be watchful. Your adversary the devil prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 9 Resist him, firm in your faith, knowing that the same kinds of suffering are being experienced by your brotherhood throughout the world.
Let me always be centered in the word of God. Let me focus only on him. If I stay rooted in the word of God the adversary has no power. I can say get behind me and he must flee. We all suffer from the effects of sin which entered us through Adam but the good news is Jesus has put the old man down and the new man is here.
If we step into our own understanding and let pride take over we can be taken over by the devil. That is why I will cast my burdens upon him so that I won’t have to fight the battle alone. I must always be sober-minded and steadfast in my walk with God.
Here are some verses to meditate upon today.
Proverbs 30:30 – A lion [which is] strongest among beasts, and turneth not away for any;
If I think for one minute Satin gives up easily I am mistaken. Satin won’t stop for any reason or person.
Psalms 17:12 – Like as a lion [that] is greedy of his prey, and as it were a young lion lurking in secret places.
Satin just will never ever give up. He is constantly waiting to devour us.
Proverbs 22:13 – The slothful [man] saith, [There is] a lion without, I shall be slain in the streets.
Give Satin room and he will tear us apart.
Proverbs 20:2 – The fear of a king [is] as the roaring of a lion: [whoso] provoketh him to anger sinneth [against] his own soul.
So today as I move into another beautiful day given to me by grace and truth let me know that at every corner lies a lion waiting to devour me.
