Verse of the day 05/30/2014

Philippians 3:13-14
Brothers, I do not consider that I have made it my own. But one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.

Here is a verse that I sometimes forget is in the bible. Forgetting the things of the past and moving forward. I tend to hold on to mistakes I have made and let them drag me down instead of learning from them and letting them go. It’s a guilt thing I learned as a child of not thinking good of myself. Thinking that the things that happened to me as a child were my fault and I held on to them for years and years and tend to still hang on to them.

Well today is a break through so I can forget the things of the past and press on to a high calling. Wipe my slate clean and go into this day with one verse on my mind.

I shall keep this verse on my mind all day today.

Matthew 6:34 – Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
So today father as I am given another day let me live it as though a brand new. I really need help to forget the things of the past and concentrate only on your kingdom.
