Verse of the day 05_03_2014

Verse of the day (Philippians 4:6)
Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.

I would like to thank those that have asked me to continue the verse of the day and I also want everyone to know that I am not trying to be a preacher, teacher, or and English major grammarian by any means. I know I sometimes type (to) instead of (too) (there) instead of (their) when they should be used. I know the difference but at 4:00 in the morning that’s what happens. I have explained how this got started before. It was just a way for me to express what I was experiencing through the ‘Jesus Calling’ study with the praise band members at first and others on facebook said they liked and enjoyed reading them and asked me to continue them. I wasn’t the most savy facebooker at that time and still not and really didn’t think others were reading them. Some said that they could relate to it………So I just like to every now and then make that clear that I am just expressing my views of how I see life these days though my faith in Jesus Christ. Others have encouraged me to continue.

In the last several verse of the day’s I was elaborating on how faith is very important to God and probably the most important thing we can do is believe he is who he is. Anything less brings anguish and turmoil to us because we loose our favor with God and the things of the world come crashing in on us. It is simply because we loose our focus on Jesus. He never turns on us but without faith it is impossible to please God. We loose our favor because we are in a place of disobedience and putting our attention on things of this world.

Being in total faith and giving thanks is knowing our savior is a pleasing aroma to God. Faith, Faith, Faith is what God is wanting. He wants the best for us but we must always give him thanks even when we are destitute and in a bad way. We need to praise him even more in those times because he has orchestrated our lives and knows the end which will be more than we can imagine.

Why would God allow us to suffer when we are his children and he wants the best for us?

The only way I can answer that is that we have to hold on to a very popular verse while going through such things with faith. Faith! Faith! Faith! Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

We are called to faith that all things will work together for good.

I believe personally that the reason we don’t experience happiness and joy as much as we could is because we hesitate to turn to God in our affliction, disparity, anguish and misfortunes. That hesitation to not give praise and glory to him in all things immediately when they fall upon us opens a gate for our natural man to start doubting God. We don’t do it on purpose but when we forget God and start questioning what he has done we loose our focus and fall deep into sin.

I used to feel like the passage today was talking about asking for material things and he would give them to me but I feel different now. I feel as though the passage is saying to us to make our request know to God of a prayerful nature. Prayer of intersession for Gods people to turn back to him and for others to come to the saving knowledge of him who is the answer to our prayers.

I feel the passage is talking about praying for more knowledge of him and to know more of him and to request more knowledge of being like him because in Philippians 2:5 the writer speaks these words to us “ Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus: “

When I feel like I am falling into sin I call on the teaching of truth about me through the bible. If I can’t seem to find the right passage. I make an earnest prayer to God for knowledge.

The main thing in Philippians 4:6 I see is it says “be careful for nothing” but only focus on prayer and supplication. This world is full of things that can quickly pull a person away from focusing on God.
It is so important to stay focused on him yet in everyday life we are pulled in every direction. Television ads are specifically designed to entrap us into disobedience. Miss use of God gift to us. The magic of instant media information.

I recalled this verse when I thought about satin’s entrapment schemes.

2 Tim 2:26
And that they may recover themselves out of the snare of the devil, who are taken captive by him at his will.

“Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.”

God has created many wonderful things in this world and at the same time satin is steadily trying very hard each day to make us worship things instead of the true living God of all these creations.

I believe in my heart that I could absolutely be doing more for the kingdom of God and I ask everyday that I would be willing to do more for him.

I am by no means a perfect person because of the sin in me and I do try very hard to stay focused on him and pray in my closet for all my friends and family without ceasing. This verse tells us how we should pray.

I will close with a very important verse that speaks to me about prayer. It is a teaching on how to pray.

Matthew 5:5-6
And when thou prayest, thou shalt not be as the hypocrites are: for they love to pray standing in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen of men. Verily I say unto you, They have their reward.
6 But thou, when thou prayest, enter into thy closet, and when thou hast shut thy door, pray to thy Father which is in secret; and thy Father which seeth in secret shall reward thee openly.
