2 Peter 3:9
The Lord is not slow to fulfill his promise as some count slowness, but is patient toward you, not wishing that any should perish, but that all should reach repentance.
Such a love is hard to understand. I am just so glad that I am not under the love of man kind. Man can in no way at all understand the love of God or even love like he loves. He is a good God that is patient with his loved ones and will wait upon them until they understand what he is trying to show them. He will never give up because he is all knowing and knows that at some point his believers will finally understand. If they continue the path they will soon understand what God is trying to teach them.
Our job is to be the hands and feet that spread the good news. We spread it right where we are at our jobs, shopping centers, restaurants, airports just anywhere we are. God wants us to reach people so that he can reach out with his spirit and draw them to himself and then bring all to repentance and truth.
These scriptures shall help me today:
From that time on Jesus began to preach, “Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is near.”
I don’t have to wait until I get to a church building to start working for God. I can work for God 24/7 right where I am in life. I reach people you don’t and vise versa.
For John came to you to show you the way of righteousness, and you did not believe him, but the tax collectors and the prostitutes did. And even after you saw this, you did not repent and believe him.
Here is an example of reaching people outside of the religious sector. The spirit of Jesus will run after that which is lost. Our focus should always be on the lost.
Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
I thank God that he called us to repentance.
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,
My sins have been forgiven as far as the east is from the west and the north is from the south. Totally forgiven and wiped clean from his remembrance.
God exalted him to his own right hand as Prince and Savior that he might give repentance and forgiveness of sins to Israel.
God gave his one and only son to die in our place. We repent and we are born a new man. Out with the old and in with the new.
So today as I move into this wonderful day given to me by his grace and love let me consider his work though my individual life. Where ever I am may I consciously think of his love for all and pray and hope someone will answer the call and most of all I pray he will use me.
