But God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
I am thankful that God chose to save a wretch like me. Such a sinner am I. His love for me is greater than anything I can imagine. I have fellowship with the father because of the death of Jesus. Jesus is my only hope in this world. He calls me to higher ground and I sometimes answer his call yet this sin in me sometimes rebels against what I know to be the right thing to do.
What an awesome God we serve.
I will meditate on these verses today:
I do not understand what I do. For what I want to do I do not do, but what I hate I do.
This is a mystery to my spirit. I have a spirit man that loves and wants to do right but yet there is another spirit man that tugs at me to not follow after that which is right and worthy of Gods love.
1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us [our] sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
Here is something that I must really get right in my understanding. All sin has to be confessed. I can not hold on to any un-confessed sin because it will keep me in a state of an unhealthy relationship with God. I must allow Jesus to go to the father with ALL my sins no matter how large I think they are or how small. It’s a confession issue that needs to be heart felt.
Romans 3:23 – For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God;
Let me always remember that it is a life devoted to Jesus and I must have a relationship with him because I am a sinner. He came after that which was lost.
Mark 2:17 – When Jesus heard [it], he saith unto them, They that are whole have no need of the physician, but they that are sick: I came not to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.
Dear father today let me realize that I am a sinner in need of your forgiveness. Let me live a life that continually confesses my sins so that Jesus may present me to the father blameless and without sin.
