Verse of the day 06/26/2014

James 1:27
Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world.

Today as I meditate upon the spirit of the Lord I have to ask myself is this verse really a priority in my life?
Am I really caring for the widows and orphans and am I keeping myself from being polluted by worldly things?
Is my life a reflection of Gods love to the less fortunate also?
Is my life reflecting God’s love?

I will meditate today upon these scriptures and focus on true religion today.
James 1:26-27
If any man among you seem to be religious, and bridleth not his tongue, but deceiveth his own heart, this man’s religion is vain.

May I watch what comes out of my mouth and focus on God’s kingdom more that the things of this world.

Colossians 2:8
Beware lest any man spoil you through philosophy and vain deceit, after the tradition of men, after the rudiments of the world, and not after Christ.

Let me focus only on the spirit of Christ Jesus and not follow after vain repititions.

1 Peter 2:1-25
Wherefore laying aside all malice, and all guile, and hypocrisies, and envies, and all evil speakings,

Let me rid my self of the evilness in this world.

1 John 3:8
He that committeth sin is of the devil; for the devil sinneth from the beginning. For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

Let me not follow this world and follow after the Son of God.

2 Timothy 2:15
Study to shew thyself approved unto God, a workman that needeth not to be ashamed, rightly dividing the word of truth.

So heavenly father as I meditate on today’s scripture let me focus on what true religion is and ask the holy spirit to teach me to be more sensitive toward widow’s and orphans. I want to study your words daily so that I may learn your ways be approved by your love and grace.

Let me go out into this world today with love for others in my heart and I ask your spirit to lead and teach me today.

Amen
