Verse of the day 07/01/2014

John 20:29
Jesus said to him, “Have you believed because you have seen me? Blessed are those who have not seen and yet have believed.”

At that very time when Jesus showed his nail scared hands Thomas believed.

We have been shown his presence through his spirit that made it evident that there is a God. Although we have not seen his nail scared body we experienced his Holy Spirit. When we have a serious heart and ask the spirit to come into our hearts there is a confirmation that only that person at that time can experience and through that experience we know without a doubt there is a God.

It is very real and leaves no doubt that the spirit of God transforms at the time we believe. As Thomas believed he said ‘My Lord and my God which acknowledged with no doubt Jesus was God himself.

I remember my conversion when I encountered the holy spirit. It is an experience that just has no words to explain it, but the experience is beyond comprehension.

Today let me focus on these verses.

James 1:5-8
If any of you lacks wisdom, he should ask God, who gives generously to all without finding fault, and it will be given to him. But when he asks, he must believe and not doubt, because he who doubts is like a wave of the sea, blown and tossed by the wind. That man should not think he will receive anything from the Lord; he is a double-minded man, unstable in all he does.

We must believe with a strong conviction that God is who he is. The one true God Almighty Jesus the Christ. Three in one the trinity, Father, Son and Holy Spirit.

Matthew 21:21
And Jesus answered them, “Truly, I say to you, if you have faith and do not doubt, you will not only do what has been done to the fig tree, but even if you say to this mountain, ‘Be taken up and thrown into the sea,’ it will happen.

We have the fullness of God.

Matthew 14:31
Jesus immediately reached out his hand and took hold of him, saying to him, “O you of little faith, why did you doubt?”

Jesus knows we are weak and struggle with our faith. Thank God for the Holy Spirit to show us the way.

James 1:6
But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for the one who doubts is like a wave of the sea that is driven and tossed by the wind.
Dear Father let me be thankful for another day to be of service to your holy spirit. May I remember you have shown your spirit to me. I am so thankful the holy spirit has shown me that my eternal security rest in belief in you only. No work of my own shall gain anymore favor.

I am thankful to be free in the Grace of God. Let me grow in your grace.
