Verse of the day 07/22/2014

Philippians 1:6
And I am sure of this, that he who began a good work in you will bring it to completion at the day of Jesus Christ.

Kind of off topic from the verse of the day but I realized how much grace is truly and freelygiven to me.

I found a quote today and I was lifted up when I realized the meaning of forgiven. It is a once and for all marvelous event. When Christ said it is finished it was done. Forgiveness is, as this quote so fantastically put it: FINISHED !!!

“Forgiven isn’t something we get – it’s something we are.”

We are forgiven and we go to God and accept his grace when we sin. Sin is our enemy and forgiveness is our gift from God. Freely given to us but we must confess our sins. It is a cleansing from deep in our soul that the spirit wants and needs so we can learn from our sins and move higher and higher into the presence of God through Jesus. One day at a time and forgetting what is in the past.

I think of confession as a cleansing of the soul.

Harboring sin holds us hostage and stunts our growth.

I will sit this morning and meditate upon these scriptures:

Matthew 6:14-15
For if you forgive men when they sin against you, your heavenly Father will also forgive you. But if you do not forgive men their sins, your Father will not forgive your sins.

I am no longer confused about this verse it is telling me that Love is above all and if I have no love I do not have God. God is Love and God forgives we also must forgive.

1 John 1:9
If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

I must examine my self regularly and confess my sins to God. It is a part of my spiritual life as a believer.

Isaiah 43:25
“I, even I, am he who blots out your transgressions, for my own sake, and remembers your sins no more.

I thank God that he sees me through Christ Jesus.

Acts 3:19
Repent, then, and turn to God, so that your sins may be wiped out, that times of refreshing may come from the Lord,

What a relief it is when we rely on the forgiveness of God. Not ask for it but rather live by it. There is a huge difference in living by grace as opposed to asking for grace. We accept grace that is given to us and we stand firm with our Lord and savior Jesus Christ. HE UNDERSTANDS US ……………….
