Verse of the day 07/25/2014

Matthew 26:41
“Keep watching and praying that you may not enter into temptation; the spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak.”

Sometimes I wonder if I am cut out for the spiritual life. I fall short so many times. What is the reason for this I ask myself? What is this conflict in my members? It is the flesh and no one can completely live a sinless life like Jesus did for us.

Let me try very hard to realize that the flesh is very very weak and the spirit is willing to live the life God intended mankind to live from the beginning. I must realize that the sin of Adam is deeply rooted in me and Satin has influence upon my body and soul.

I will take to heart the implications of the flesh ruling me in this life but the final outcome shall be me serving God in heaven for eternity. It’s a promise from God himself.

I will meditate upon these verses today:

2 Corinthians 12:10
Therefore I am well content with weaknesses, with insults, with distresses, with persecutions, with difficulties, for Christ’s sake; for when I am weak, then I am strong.

When I fall for sin I repent and come back to God. Why does a certain sin stay with me? Paul asked the same question and God told him ‘My grace is sufficient’. I’ll trust in God…..

1 Corinthians 2:2-5
For I determined to know nothing among you except Jesus Christ, and Him crucified. I was with you in weakness and in fear and in much trembling, and my message and my preaching were not in persuasive words of wisdom, but in demonstration of the Spirit and of power,

All I want to know is my savior Jesus Christ because I am a sinner.

Isaiah 40:29-31
He gives strength to the weary, And to him who lacks might He increases power. Though youths grow weary and tired, And vigorous young men stumble badly, Yet those who wait for the LORD Will gain new strength; They will mount up with wings like eagles, They will run and not get tired, They will walk and not become weary.

When I am down and spiritually insecure I call upon God and he will give me strength.

Isaiah 50:4
The Lord GOD has given Me the tongue of disciples, That I may know how to sustain the weary one with a word. He awakens Me morning by morning, He awakens My ear to listen as a disciple.

Jesus today let me realize that I am subject to sin everyday but you allow me your spirit to walk through each day given to me victoriously.
