Verse of the day 08/15/2014

Proverbs 19:21
Many are the plans in the mind of a man, but it is the purpose of the Lord that will stand.

As I look at this verse and try to understand what it means, I think of how many times I want things to go my way. I want to do things my way all of the time and sometimes God gets my attention and turns my plans upside down.

I ask God to give me understanding early on when I make my plans so that if he interrupts my plans I am willing to hear his voice and respond accordingly. I pray that I don’t get so involved with what I want that I get to the point where God has to discipline me and I loose focus on what I am really suppose to do.

I want to turn my plans over to Gods direction for my life.

Today I will meditate upon these scriptures:

Hebrews 13:20-21
Now the God of peace, that brought again from the dead our Lord Jesus, that great shepherd of the sheep, through the blood of the everlasting covenant, Make you perfect in every good work to do his will, working in you that which is wellpleasing in his sight, through Jesus Christ; to whom [be] glory for ever and ever. Amen.

Let me follow him and do his will in my life. Let me have a discerning heart and always stay in tune with what his spirit leads me and guides me to do.

Romans 12:2
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.

Let me always be kingdom minded and kingdom focused. I want to conform to heavenly things here and now on earth.

Ephesians 5:15-20
See then that ye walk circumspectly, not as fools, but as wise, Redeeming the time, because the days are evil. Wherefore be ye not unwise, but understanding what the will of the Lord [is]. And be not drunk with wine, wherein is excess; but be filled with the Spirit; Speaking to yourselves in psalms and hymns and spiritual songs, singing and making melody in your heart to the Lord; Giving thanks always for all things unto God and the Father in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ;

Let me concentrate on the kingdom of God with songs of praise and prayer and supplication. It is hard while living in this world of evil to stay totally focused on God but I shall try harder and harder each day to sing and praise God.

Ephesians 1:11
In whom also we have obtained an inheritance, being predestinated according to the purpose of him who worketh all things after the counsel of his own will:

Even knowing that God has already determined my salvation I still have earthly evilness to contend with. I will make a point today to make a conscious effort to stop and focus on living the will of God.

So today father I pray that I do your will in every event and situation I am faced with.
