Verse of the day 08/16/2014

Proverbs 20:22
Do not say, “I will repay evil”; wait for the Lord, and he will deliver you.

If something happens to me or someone really pushes my buttons it is a human reaction to want to get back at them. It’s a normal human reaction. The spirit has to step in and take over. If I dwell on the situation too long then it gives birth to sin and I will end up trying desperately to get back or try to repay them for what has happen to me. Satin will convince me to forget about what God says and before I know it I am on my own and I will for sure be miserable at the end.

Turning everything over to God can be difficult because of the sin nature in me so I must everyday pray for wisdom and guidance to help me give every situation to God and let him work it out especially in times where people have done me wrong.

Let me focus on these verses today:

James 1:15
Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death

As soon as I realize something is wrong or someone has done me wrong I must immediately turn it over to God and never dwell on the situation or person.

Romans 12:14
Bless them which persecute you: bless, and curse not.

Help me to love with the love of God.

Luke 6:27-36
But I say unto you which hear, Love your enemies, do good to them which hate you, Bless them that curse you, and pray for them which despitefully use you.
And unto him that smiteth thee on the [one] cheek offer also the other; and him that taketh away thy cloke forbid not [to take thy] coat also.
Give to every man that asketh of thee; and of him that taketh away thy goods ask [them] not again.
And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.
For if ye love them which love you, what thank have ye? for sinners also love those that love them.
And if ye do good to them which do good to you, what thank have ye? for sinners also do even the same.
And if ye lend [to them] of whom ye hope to receive, what thank have ye? for sinners also lend to sinners, to receive as much again.
But love ye your enemies, and do good, and lend, hoping for nothing again; and your reward shall be great, and ye shall be the children of the Highest: for he is kind unto the unthankful and [to] the evil.
Be ye therefore merciful, as your Father also is merciful.

Help me to Love my enemies an rely on the your spirit to help me in those situations because the flesh is not willing to cooperate.

Luke 23:34 – Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.

So dear father as I meditate upon these verse and let your spirit teach me let me become more and more like you for you forgave us even as we nailed you to the cross.

Your love never fails.

Today I will listen to the words of the song for my day and let it lift my spirit to you.
