Verse of the day 08/21/2014

1 Peter 5:10
And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you.

Once I became dedicated to the Love of God and started following his word many things changed and friends and family knew something was different. To a lot of people it appeared like I had lost my mind
in some ways but I kept on moving forward even if I had to leave situations for the leading of the spirit.

To suffer for Christ is actually gain.
To suffer is to live for the kingdom and deny the flesh.
To suffer is to reject the sin in me yet realize I am in a battle with sin and the victory is won.
To suffer is longing to live someday in the comfort of a savior in a world of sin through faith.
To suffer is giving God my all in a sin driven world knowing that satin has authority to tempt me here on earth but does not have control of my final destiny.

Although I must suffer it is most important that I know that Jesus Christ is the mighty doctor the heals the sick and broken in heart and spirit.

That keeps me striving to know him more and more.

I believe his promise with every fiber in my being and stand firm on God’s word that I am in his hand and he will not forsake me. When I fall I get back up and look to his love and grace to heal me.

May I meditate on these verses today:

Romans 5:3-5
More than that, we rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God’s love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.

Let me realize that suffering is only a part of being an active Christian.

Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worth comparing with the glory that is to be revealed to us.

Let me hope for the glory of a heavenly home that will be given to me when I leave this earthly plain.

2 Timothy 3:12
Indeed, all who desire to live a godly life in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,

Let me notice that the word will is used in this verse so I won’t be able to escape persecution.

1 Peter 4:12-19
Beloved, do not be surprised at the fiery trial when it comes upon you to test you, as though something strange were happening to you. But rejoice insofar as you share Christ’s sufferings, that you may also rejoice and be glad when his glory is revealed. If you are insulted for the name of Christ, you are blessed, because the Spirit of glory and of God rests upon you. But let none of you suffer as a murderer or a thief or an evildoer or as a meddler. Yet if anyone suffers as a Christian, let him not be ashamed, but let him glorify God in that name.

Let me be strong so that when a trial comes I can come out on the side of Gods love and grace.

Philippians 3:10
That I may know him and the power of his resurrection, and may share his sufferings, becoming like him in his death,
Today as I look upon my life I have had persecution but nothing to the level of our Lord and savior Jesus Christ.

Let me understand that Christ suffered a brutal and horrible death for me and I must do my part in every way I can through sufferings and hard times as well as prosperous times.

I today give thanks to you Lord for all you have done for me.
