Verse of the day 08/27/2014

Romans 6:22
But now that you have been set free from sin and have become slaves of God, the fruit you get leads to sanctification and its end, eternal life.

May I live with a strong conviction that the lies of the devil will not be a part of my life. Let me understand that Christ took sin away and ask him to live his life through me and when I am weak he will be there to guide and teach me what I need to know.

The words ‘leads to sanctification’ to me means I am not there yet.
Let me live the life Christ wants me to live now with a hope of attaining eternal life.

Unbelief is not a part of my life. Believing in his saving grace saves me from sin. I will walk with confidence and bear fruit that is pleasing to God.

Let me realize it is a day by day practice and a life of dedication to his love for us through faith alone.

Today I will meditate upon these scriptures:

2 Timothy 2:21
If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master’s use, [and] prepared unto every good work.

Being purged is a constant awareness of his life given for us. I will honor and surrender my life as a vessel for serving God.

2 Corinthians 5:17
Therefore if any man [be] in Christ, [he is] a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.

Let me let go of all things of my past life when I lived in sin and rebellion. Let this new life continue to grow in grace and become what God wants me to become.

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

I ask God to increase in me more and more and let my fleshly man decrease.

2 Peter 3:18
But grow in grace, and [in] the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him [be] glory both now and for ever. Amen.

I have always loved these words when I first read them ‘GROW IN GRACE’. I realize that I must grow and work for God. Not a works like the flesh seems to understand but work as a servant focusing on him alone. That is the work I want to do.

So dear father let me grow in your grace and knowledge and truth. Today let me learn something new about you and your kingdom. Let me live heaven on earth and become more sanctified each day.

Amen
